However, I've never felt like that's the case. I personally think that they serve two different audiences, but both audiences deserve reviews at a high standard. I'm a librarian, so in a sense I am one of the gatekeepers, but I'm also a raging book geek.<br /><br />Interesting fact: Betsy Bird's blog, Fuse #8, was independent and non-profit for years before she began blogging with SLJ, and she cares hugely about books.
