If you've ever wanted to get more involved with the kidlitosphere, now's your chance. Hop on over to MotherReader's blog and sign up for the 2011 comment challenge. In a nutshell, here's how it works: You try to comment on other people's book blogs. That's . . . really about it.
I love this when it comes around, because it reminds me to put my reactions to other bloggers in writing, to be part of the conversation that is this great blog adventure we're all having. I also try to check out a lot of the other participants' blogs, and this challenge has introduced me to lots of neat new blogging friends. Well, what are you waiting for?
This also dovetails rather nicely with my own desire to blog more. I have great half-written reviews on my hard drive, but they don't do me much good there, now do they?

I agree! This is a great way to reach my goal of writing more. Both book reviews and blog comments. I am just now realizing how enormous the book blog community is. Looking forward to getting to know this world.

I just signed up. Just launched my own blog last night and Zoe at Playing by the Book told me about the challenge. Nice to meet you and your blog this way!
The Comment Challenge is how I found you! What a great way to "meet" new peeps with the same interests.
That's a lot how I'm thinking of it, too. I used to engage... I used to blog more, too... The Comment Challenge seems like a good reason to change both of those things.
Lauri and Rachel - welcome to the kidlitosphere! We're a pretty big web of folks out there. Glad to have you join us.
Lauri and Jackie - that's why I was so happy to hear it happened again. It's such a good kick in the pants.
I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with half-written reviews on my computer. Maybe we'll both get some of them out to the light of our blogs.
MR - Maybe we should have a Finish-That-Review! challenge.
I enjoy the Comment Challenge. I found it difficult, if not impossible the first time I did it, but this go-around, it hasn't been hard at all.
Yes, I think it's fair to say that the Comment Challenge turned me from a lurker into a commenter.
I'm finding a lot of cool new blogs, and reconnecting with bloggers that I haven't followed in a while. It's pretty awesome!
